Chivalry is not dead.

A wizened old man with wrinkled tattooes, lots of stubble, and a veteran's cap opened a door for me at the post office today before effortlessly got around me to open the next one for me. I'd like to see some young ATI guy do better. "They don't make'em like they used to."

Now that takes a certain cat-like skill. Amazing.

Hee hee hee! :)

Wrinkled tatoos is a sure sign of a gentleman!
But really, they trained them well back then so even those with tatoos are good. :)

Not dead in the South, anyway. Yesterday, an 80ish fellow slipped past my elbow and opened the church door just in the nick of time!

Ever since I read this post I've been on a constant watch for chivalrous strangers. I've been finding it surprisingly frequently, from the grocery store parking lot to the mailman on my front doorstep.

You're so right, Bria! Us ATI folk should set up tattooed, wizened men for our examples! Maybe Kendra can mention it to Bill Gothard.:D

Yes, chivalry is not dead, and your story is a prime example of just that. Many times me thinks that it has decayed over time, but thankfully it hasn't completely, or we would be living in a truly terrible world.
